The Hymns to Freedom Project

Inspired by the words of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Corey Butler has composed classical orchestrations supported by the Kitchener Waterloo Symphony Orchestra and renowned singer, Liberty Silver. The Kitchener Waterloo Symphony has a 75 year history of bringing artistry and innovation shaping the expression and experience of its audiences through live orchestral music. Mr. Butler’s compositions fuse Classical Music and the Negro Spiritual and highlights the unlikely influences the genres have on each other. Tension and resolution in the pieces are juxtaposed against the past and present racial environments and shows that when united, our differences can unite to create masterpieces.

The Hymns to Freedom Project communicates the ideals of love, respect and unity to all generations. Guests will be entertained by the music and challenged by the message, "We’re Better Together".
